L & J G Stickley Large Fixed Back Rocker Signed

Large L & J G Stickley "fixed-back" rocking chair. A handsome form, large enough for a deep and tall back cushion. The term "fixed -back" refers to the angled back duplicating the second position in a Morris chair or Morris-rocker for a very comfortable ride. The back cushion was not yet finished, just temporary for the photograph. Choice of quality upholstery grade leather or Arts & Crafts replica fabric when available. Features excellent quarter sawed white oak grain, wide arms, four long graceful corbels supportng the arms front and back and pinned mortise and tenon construction. Very good original condition with minor color touch up to the tops of the arms. Signed:: "The Work of L & J G Stickley". Circa 1912- 1918.
